Since I moved to this new house, I have been wanting to decorate my room, but with a busy teen high school year, I just didn’t have the time!
I have teamed up with Cut It Out! to bring you this post – they sent me frames from my Cut It Out collection for free, but I already used their frames in the past and love them.
When you buy my Cut It Out Collection, everything you need to create an amazing teen room comes shipped to you! It’s super easy breezy to get and your teens are sure to thank you for their AMAZING new room decor!
I used these frames from Cut It Out-
The frames are wood, so they are really easy to paint. I like to use DecoArt craft paint, but really paint that won’t be sticky when it dries is good (because who wants sticky frames?!). 🙂
I really wanted to continue my “travel themed” room.
I love to travel and I just got back from a trip to Germany with my family! While I was in Germany, we stopped by an IKEA to pick up some German bedding (It’s a fitted sheet and a light duvet to act as a dual duvet and top sheet — it’s awesome!) and I chose this grayish bedding that looks like subway routes to me – traveling! If you want to buy the U.S. version of this bedding, you can find that here. I also have a World Map Cork board (<< you can read this post here), A floral pin board from PB teen (<< They don’t sell it anymore, but this one is pretty close!), along with lots and lots of decor/souvenirs from my travels!
Because I wanted to continue that theme so much, I tried to find colors that felt travelish to me. (Blue, Green, and Pink) I also painted the pound signs (or hashtags), at signs, and ampersands in the same color scheme!
To make the big frame – I painted the whole thing white, then added blue stripes, and while it was still wet I painted it white again to get the cool mixed color!
I then put some decorative paper into the frame (actually this is burlap) and I will soon hang some cute photos of my Mom & I. 🙂
With Cut It Out Frames, you can layer and mix them up, but I stuck with one Balboa frame that will be the main focus of the set up.
I drew a tiny placement blueprint, which I would recommend so you don’t get confused on where to put your frames!
It turned out much different then what I had planned for but I still love it 🙂
I hug them up with nails/Command Strips and voila! How awesome does it look?!
Ahh!! I’m in love!
I also hung up this sunset I made using DohVinci (post here!) and I hung up some photos I had of my friends and family as well!
I hope you love this DIY teen room reveal just as much as I do!
