Today, I am part of something super awesome and special – I am so excited to be a part of a Red White and Blue Blog Hop! There are almost 100 (!!!) craft, food, and decor ideas!! Be sure to check some of the projects below out! Also make sure to hop over to The Cards We Drew and tell Abbey thank you for putting this awesome hop together!
Let’s get started to learn how to make this Ombre Planter!
You will need:
One Ball Jar
Red DecoArt Paint
Blue DecoArt Paint
First, you need to get your ball jar and clean the outside. Make sure it is all clean and ready to paint!
Then, take your red paint and put it on the top (or bottom) and sponge brush it around the whole jar. I like the way the sponge looks with the jar, but you could also use a paint brush.
While that is drying, put a tiny bit of blue on the bottom (or top) and paint it around the jar. Let this dry for a little bit.
Then, put a even tinier dot of both blue and red and mix it and put it in a band around the middle. This will make three layers – blue, purple, and red.
Add a little bit of blue and red on their sides and (this is where the sponge is helpful) dabble it closer and closer to the purple middle on both ends. This will help to create the nice ombre from red to blue or blue to red.
Then, after it is all dry, fill it up with dirt and add your succulent into the top!
Lookin’ great! (I made multiples, so that is why the paint is in a different order here 🙂 )
This would be perfect for a center piece, or a planter that won’t be hard to take care of, or anything else you can think of!
